FAQ - A Destination for Ideation | Asheville Ideas Fest

Frequently Asked Questions

AIF Passes are $1500-$2000 per person. Discounted early bird rates are available until April 15.
Asheville Ideas Fest is NOT a for-profit event. It is our intention to break-even so we can continue to build Asheville Ideas Fest for the future. While we understand that this will place attendance out of reach for some, if you investigate the costs to attend other national-level multi-day festivals you will know that we are presenting a tremendous value for the Asheville Ideas Fest experience. We are offering a limited number of passes to individuals and organizations on a sliding scale. If you would like to help make this possible for more interested parties, we encourage you to make a gift to Asheville Ideas Fest on the registration page, which can be found here.
Asheville Ideas Fest is designed as an immersive experience for our passholder community. Consequently, we do not offer day passes.
The AIF Pass includes access to the kickoff event on June 17 and three full days of lectures, events, selected meals, and more!

As a Pisgah Pass holder, you will have the pride of knowing you are supporting a vibrant annual intellectual gathering that will continue for decades! This year, your registration will give you access to everything the AIF pass has to offer plus daily curated VIP experiences that include small events with access to speakers and specialized food and beverages in inspiring spaces.
Schedule coming soon.
Events will take place on UNC Asheville's campus located in North Asheville, in downtown Asheville, at Highland Brewing Company, at the Omni Grove Park Inn, and in other select locations throughout the city.
AIF passes can be picked up at the kickoff event on Tuesday, June 17th from 6:30 - 8 pm. Pisgah passes can be picked up at the Pisgah Pass event that evening beginning at 5:30pm. If you are unable to attend the opening events, your badges will be available for you when you arrive at the first session you are able to attend.
Free parking is available on the UNC Asheville campus throughout the week. As we finalize the program venues for the week we will provide detailed parking and shuttle information.
Oh boy, we love to offer fashion advice! Dress code for Asheville Ideas Fest is "neat casual." Shorts and comfortable shoes are welcome. All of our indoor spaces are air conditioned, but we'll also be moving between venues and summer weather in the mountains can be unpredictable.

We're negotiating preferred rates with several local hotels. For a special rate at The Omni Grove Park Inn, book here:

We recommend renting a car or utilizing rideshare services in most cases. On days when we have events beyond the UNC Asheville campus we will provide shuttles for your convenience.

You can edit your registration directly through Eventbrite or reach out to us at ashevilleideasfest@unca.edu if you need assistance.

Fest Pass refunds are available until 30 days prior to the event. Eventbrite fees will be non-refundable. Because this is a nonprofit enterprise and we need to plan well in advance with our partners and vendors, we regret that no refunds will be available after that date.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Please fill out this form and we will contact you if opportunities become available.
